Phi Theta Kappa Activities

The chapter promotes scholarship not only by informing members about scholarships available because of their membership, but also by pursuing scholarly activities, especially activities that grow out of the exploration of the Honors Study Topic, which is currently "Frontiers and the Spirit of Exploration."

Monthly meetings include chapter business and programs as determined by officers and members. Bi-monthly meetings are generally held every two weeks with one on Saturday mornings and one on Friday afternoons. Dates may vary due to college or seasonal events.  Meeting dates, times, and places are listed on the Meetings page.

Leadership opportunities include serving as officers and committee chairs.  Members have practice in planning events, conducting meetings, learning parliamentary procedures, and networking with college staff and faculty as well as with members of other organizations.

Service opportunities include a wide variety of events which grow from the Honors Study Topic and member interests. In the past, the chapter has given service to The Children's Home of Reading, Berks County Conservancy, the Greater Berks Food Bank and Berks Women in Crisis as well as participating in the campus-wide RACCy Olympics and other campus-wide service events.
