Working Hours:
Working hours for this position consist of a 7.5 hour period (between the hours of 8:00am and 7:30pm), exclusive of a 1/2 or 1 hour lunch. These hours to be agreed upon between the supervisor and employee at the onset of employment. Position normally requires working Monday through Friday but may require working occasional weekend hours based on the needs of the department. Will require working one evening per week.
Summary:
This position is responsible for recruiting new students through the Welcome Center, processing applications, and coordinating day-to-day operations in the Testing Center including proctoring exams, monitoring equipment and supply needs, and running reports related to test activity. The Testing/Enrollment Services Specialist (TESS) is among the first college representatives that prospective students meet. The TESS’s role is to assist prospective students that walk-in to the Welcome Center in the transactional process of completing the application and placement testing process prior to registering to enroll in the College. The TESS will meet with prospective students and assist them in mapping out an educational plan. The TESS assists prospects that walk-in to the Welcome Center, and will direct prospects that are unsure of their goals to an Enrollment Services Coordinator for a more lengthy interview and discussion. The TESS must be able to learn, understand and effectively articulate the value and benefits of the education provided by the College, and develop a level of trust and rapport with prospective and new students. The TESS will be expected to commit to team enrollment goals for the Welcome Center. In addition, this position requires significant use and knowledge of multiple online information, testing and marketing software tools. The Testing and Enrollment Services Specialist will also be expected to provide proctoring and administrative support to the PearsonVue testing center and CLEP testing services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Effectively provide important enrollment information to prospective students walking in to the Welcome Center, asking appropriate questions to identify the students’ goals and plans.
- Coordinate the day-to-day operations in the Testing Center including proctoring exams, monitoring equipment and supply needs, and running reports related to test activity.
- Assist the Admissions team with Open Houses and Open Enrollment days as needed.
- Refer students to appropriate campus resources for assistance with college major, disability services, academic and personal issues, and other college related concerns.
- Interpret students’ high school and college transcripts, standardized test scores and placement test scores to provide guidance and assist students through the enrollment process.
- Manage data for prospects between current marketing/CRM software and the College ERP (Ellucian Colleague). Ensure data for walk-in prospects is processed as the students complete enrollment process.
- Conduct him/herself in a professional manner and exhibit a positive image for RACC at all times.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
Required:
- Associate degree from an accredited institution.
- Two years of experience in a customer-focused sales, marketing, telemarketing or higher education advising/admissions/recruitment position.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in education or related field from an accredited institution.
- Two years of professional experience in a testing and assessment environment.
- Prior experience in and understanding of college admissions and recruiting.
- Bilingual Spanish/English.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Internet skills. Knowledge of Datatel, Hubspot or other administrative software a plus.
