Summary:
The Project Director is responsible for a program that will ensure that the citizens of Reading, Pennsylvania have the capacity to obtain, process, and understand basic health information and services needed to make appropriate health decisions when related to COVID-19 and to advance the Health People 2030 objectives. Specifically, this position will be responsible for evaluating locally tailored practice- and evidence-based strategies related to health literacy in Reading, Pennsylvania. This is primarily a telework position. This is a 100% AHL 2-Year Grant funded position.
Travel Requirements:
Position requires regular local travel; employee must have access to transportation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish and track study milestones to ensure projects stay on time and on budget
- Schedule, coordinate, and conduct conference calls, webinars, meetings and training sessions
- Participate in development, design and coordination of materials for project and manage all project documentation and records and serve as a liaison to internal departments and external entities
- Assist with preparation and submission of documentation to the funder of the project
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Directly supervise full-time, regular part-time and other part-time employees assigned to the position. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with College policies, Collective Bargaining Agreements and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance, and taking corrective action with employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher plus three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred:
- Knowledge of the Community College and Higher Education system
- Bilingual: English / Spanish
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Detail-oriented and ability to produce high quality work
- Clear and accurate communicator, both verbally and in writing
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and support team decisions and team responsibilities
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Internet skills. Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague or other administrative software a plus.
Communication Skills:
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
