Specific work hours to be agreed upon by the supervisor and employee prior to the onset of employment.
Summary:
The Registration Specialist-Custom Training provides customer service/clerical support for the Career Training & Community Education Unit. Serves as the departments support for employer custom training. Schedules appointments and gives information to callers, and otherwise relieves officials of clerical work and minor administrative and business detail by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Performs essential tasks for the employer custom training including, but not limited to, creating course sections, updating course/module information, and ensuring accuracy of data records.
2. Proofreads and updates basic information in brochures and flyers, under the direction of the Executive Director of Career Training & Community Education.
3. Screens visitors and provides accurate and detailed information to prospective employers and program participants.
4. Assists with responding to prospective student or community requests for Career Training and sends out information as needed.
5. Updates current schedules, catalogs, and other printed or online materials.
6. Assists with preparing classroom materials, brochures, and flyers for Career Training and Community Education.
7. Assists with ordering of supplies and creation of Purchase Order Requisitions.
8. Maintains accurate training participant records and ensures that attendance is submitted to spreadsheets for program reporting as required.
9. Provides clerical assistance to the Executive Director and designated staff members.
10. Maintain confidentiality of records.
11. Other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
Required
- High School Diploma or GED required
- One year of customer service experience
Preferred
- Bilingual Spanish/English
- Associates Degree a plus
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Must have strong interpersonal skills to interface with a variety of students and potential students
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Highly organized
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Internet skills. Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague or other administrative software a plus.
Communication Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
