Become a data scientist...in two years or less
Introducing the RACC associate degree and certificate programs.
Skilled data analysts are some of the most sought-after professionals in the world. Because the demand is so strong, and the supply of people who can truly do this job well is so limited, data analysts command large salaries, even at the entry level.
The field of data science is a blend of statistics, quantitative reasoning, and computer science. Data scientists use their expertise in statistics and computer programming to help businesses, government agencies, and non profits make important data-driven predictions and decisions.
Data analyst careers include:
- Database Administrator
- Web Administrator
- Geographic Information Systems Technologists and Technicians
- Data Warehousing Specialist
- Business Intelligence Analyst
- Clinical Data Manager
The Data Science Program provides students with a solid blend of statistics, quantitative reasoning, and computer science to produce meaningful insights from data and make predictions and decisions. Students will reason critically about data in all forms and apply data analysis, database design and management, sampling, and modeling in developing and presenting databased opinions and their impact on society. Students will also implement various programming and application languages through design projects based on real-world contexts by applying fundamental concepts of algorithms, structures, frameworks, statistical analysis, database design, and applied predictive analytics.
Students will graduate with the necessary workforce skills or advance into careers such as full-stack developer, data scientist, business analytics specialist, data analyst, data visualization developer, operations research analyst, and market research analyst.
Students can also obtain additional credentials that boost their portfolio by demonstrating mastery of specific subject skills during the program.
The Data Analytics Certificate Program prepares students to gain skills that enhance their participation in a data analytics/data science team or implement data solutions within their work environment. Students will effectively collect and organize data and develop web-based solutions using front-end design languages like JavaScript.
The program prepares students for the workforce or helps them advance into careers, such as front-end developer, database administrator, or database developer.
Students can also obtain additional credentials that boost their portfolio by demonstrating mastery of specific subject skills during the program.
