Description: |
Summary: The Financial Aid/Records Student Employee assists with customer service for operations over the counter in the Records/Financial Aid Office. In addition they will over see the process and monitor administrative services in the areas of student registration, curriculum management, student demographics, imaging and financial aid. There is extensive interaction with faculty, staff, students and parents. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: 1. Uphold the provisions of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act when providing all the services rendered by the Records and Financial Aid Office 2. Responsible for accurate registration processes over the counter and assist students with web registration issues 3. Provide accurate and timely Records functions over the counter such as Insurance verification, academic transcripts and enrollment verification 4. Assure timely and accurate recording of all aspects of student demographics 5. Maintain confidentiality while scanning and filing documents such as tax returns and other personally identifiable documentation 6. Provide diagnostic assessment to problem solve discrepancies with regard to registration, financial aid, curriculum management and demographic issues and correct the errors 7. Conduct professional behavior at all times 8. Learn all forms of electronic transactions such as the use of Colleague, Etrieve, MS Word, and Excel. 9. Provide other duties as assigned Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities Qualifications: 3.0 cumulative G.P. A at start of employment Education
Language Skills Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or board of directors. Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software, spread sheet software; data based programming and word processing software. Normal Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
