Working Hours:
Specific work hours to be agreed upon by the supervisor and employee prior to the onset of employment.
Summary:
The ECE Bi-lingual Support Coach will provide: support to bi-lingual students; small group peer support sessions during education lab hours; guide potential students through the PDO and College application process; and register for PDO funded classes. In addition, the ECE Bi-lingual coach will reach out to childcare center to recruit workforce ECE students.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Meet with Early Childhood Education coordinator/instructor (s) weekly to be aware of course content and coverage.
- Coach ELL students for understanding of content and assignments.
- Coach ELL students in course work, field experience, and portfolio development in individual and group sessions.
- Coach workforce student in the RACC and PDO application process.
- Work with child care centers to recruit and retain workforce students.
- Provide support to students in developing course and CDA portfolios.
- Submit a weekly Report to Coordinator of Early Childhood Education (ECE), identifying students met with and supports provided.
- Other related responsibilities as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
Required
- Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or BS/BA in ECE
- Bilingual Spanish/English required
Preferred
- Reading Area Community College ECE graduate
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Internet skills. Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague or other administrative software a plus.
Communication Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and
memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or
two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
