Working Hours:
Specific work hours to be agreed upon by the supervisor and employee prior to the onset of employment with a preference for weekday mornings during high-volume weeks around the beginning and end of a new academic term.
Summary:
The Teaching and Learning Support Specialist resolves learning management system (LMS) helpdesk tickets created online, on the phone, and in-person. This employee also assists in creating and deploying routine survey projects for course evaluations across the college. Finally, this role completes other routine administrative duties, such as maintaining department training records and standards of practice.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide LMS support for faculty and students.
- Create and deploy routine course evaluations.
- Maintain department records and standards of practice.

Education and/or Experience:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree
- Customer service and/or teaching experience
Preferred
- Experience using a learning management system as a student, instructor, or administrator
- Experience using Microsoft 365: SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and/or Teams.
- Experience with electronic survey tools (SurveyMonkey, Watermark, or Google/Microsoft Forms)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to work independently with limited close supervision
- Ability to quickly learn new technology
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have an intermediate to advanced understanding of Microsoft and/or other web-based software programs. Proficiency in keyboard typing and file organization on a Windows PC is expected for this position.
Communication Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short chat messages, and emails. They should be able to write simple correspondence and to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations within the department and college.
Reasoning Ability:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. They must also have an ability to deal with both standardized situations with only occasional or no variables and some situations with frequent variables.
Mathematical Skills:
This individual must have an ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
