Working Hours:

Working hours for this position consist of 37.5 hours per week (between the hours of 7:30 am and 8:00 pm) exclusive of a 1/2 or 1 hour lunch.  Note: May be required to work additional hours on occasion.  The employee has the option of working these hours in addition to or in lieu of regular hours. 

Summary:  

Performs updates and edits using a CMS on RACC’s website and responsible for social networking and online/electronic publications. Provides general marketing and public relations support for recruitment, retention and for digital advertising strategies. This position is writing-intensive across all mediums.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain, update and create website content.  Work with content owners to ensure information is accurate and presented in accordance with web standards and RACC’s style/brand.
  2. Create marketing videos used to attract new students and increase enrollment. Find stock video to fit with current promotion, edit/add visual effects, record/edit voice-over sound, acquire background music, and produce video content to meet with the needs of the targeted audience. Manage the College’s social media accounts.
  3. Create virtual events as needed, including marketing ceremony, open house, orientation, career days, etc. Gather/record videos used for virtual events such as speeches, etc. Create virtual slide shows, programs, and graphics to go along with the ceremonies. 
  4. Record videos used for virtual events and marketing videos.  Edit recorded video for use on campus website and YouTube. 
  5. Act as Editor/Producer for the RACC podcast. Record audio for RACC podcast using microphones and mixer.  Edit recorded audio and mix audio from other files with the main podcast content to create a seamless stream of audio.  Publish and distribute podcast on website and media players. 
  6. Produce and design engaging digital advertising campaigns and imagery used for social media platforms, digital billboards, emails, banner ads, campus monitors, etc., that will produce growth in both the college’s digital audience and student admissions, while maintaining the RACC branding and imaging. 
  7. Monitor online marketing and advertising trends and recommends new technologies and enhancements for the communications plan.
  8. Prepare dramatic print materials used for marketing and other campus related events and agendas. 
  9. Responsible for the design and layout of materials, including flyers, posters, postcards, banners, infographics, t-shirts, pocket folders, handouts, brochures, programs, etc., that maintain with the RACC branding and imaging. 
  10. Serve as the campus photographer. Visually illustrates campus life by capturing photographs at a variety of campus events, including student life events, external activities held on campus, admission events, visitors to the campus, group visits and other times when requested by staff, faculty and students. Edit, crop and distribute digital images for electronic and/or print. 
  11. Serve as the campus presentation designer. Collaborate with staff and faculty to create crisp, compelling and professional presentations for internal and external audiences that maintain with the RACC branding and imaging. 
  12. Develop distinctive logos for campus groups/clubs/events that represents their activities while maintaining the RACC branding and imaging. 
  13. Design e-newsletters and templates for marketing department, admissions events and campus updates.  Build campaigns, manage audiences and track performance of e-newsletters in MailChimp. 
  14. Assist with standard operations of the Marketing and Communications department including writing, proofreading and editing.
  15. Assist with special projects in the Marketing and Communications department.
  16. Monitor website analytics and make recommendations on strategy and communication flow. 
  17. Monitor social media routinely and delete inappropriate posts.
  18. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:                                            

Required:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field. 
  2. Two years’ experience including website and new/electronic/social media. 
  3. Must have demonstrated writing experience across multiple platforms. 

Preferred:

  1. Experience in higher education or non-profit. 
  2. Experience with content management systems a plus. 
  3. Experience with graphic design and photo software.

Computer Skills:                                           

To perform this job successfully, an individual must have command of all Office applications. 

Other Skills and Abilities:                                                     

•     Excellent time and project management skills.

•     Ability to work with a variety of people.

•     Strong visual communications skills and exceptional attention to detail.            

•     Demonstrated excellent writing and editing skills.

•     Ability to work as a team member.

Communication Skills:                                            

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:    

Must be able to calculate and interpret basic math calculations.                                          

Reasoning Ability: 

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
