Summary:
Collaborate with institutional departments and outside vendors for all printing/copying/finishing projects while adhering to the college graphic and marketing standards.
Working Hours:
Working hours for this position consist of a 7.5 hour day (between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm) exclusive of a 1/2 or 1 hour lunch. These hours to be agreed upon between supervisor and employee at the onset of employment.
This position requires evening and weekend work on occasion, in addition to or in lieu of regular working hours.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Operate and maintain all printing/copying/finishing equipment including but not limited to; high speed copier, booklet maker and perform bindery operations (cutting, folding, collating, stapling, hole-drilling, GBC binding, padding and laminating)
- Set up, adjust, and operate conventional size offset printing equipment for printing letters, forms, brochures, etc. as well as perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance on the press, including cleaning, adjusting, oiling, etc.
- Assist walk-in customers with use of copy equipment and paper/printing requests and coordinate finishing services with outside vendors as necessary.
- Adhere to production schedules and deadlines as agreed upon with the department or vendor.
- Keep accurate records related to billing and labor costs for departmental charging.
- Maintain and stock inventory, notifying supervisor when there is a need to reorder.
- Prepare written inventory as required for accounting.
- Calculate charges for completed printing projects and submit monthly billing reports for each department.
- Adhere to copyright requirements relating to duplicating, printing and software.
- Perform other related departmental duties as assigned by supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:
An Associate Degree is required, preferably in Graphic Arts. Experience with dual environment (MAC/PC) is required. Minimum four years of experience operating offset presses and/or bindery equipment is required.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to groups of customers or employees of the College.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MAC OS, including Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), as well as Microsoft Office Suite, particularly, Word and Excel.

- Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills are a plus
