Working Hours:
Hours consist of a 15-hour work week. Specific work hours to be agreed upon by the supervisor and employee prior to the onset of employment.
Summary:
The Student Life Assistant provides administrative support to the Director of Student Activities and supports student life activities, including but not limited to assisting with virtual and on campus activities and event registrations, marketing of events, overseeing student task deadlines and delegating tasks as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform administrative/clerical duties such as typing correspondence, filing, data entry, photocopying, answering the telephone and taking accurate messages
- Delegate work to the work-study student employees
- Oversee deadlines for other student employees’ tasks
- Oversee fundraising data entry, from preparing deposits to crediting and updating reports
- Set up the Tissue Issue each week
- Run errands on campus
- Assist with Mailings
- Assist with Fundraising activities
- Assist with survey data collection
- Compile data for assessment and configure spreadsheets
- Assist club/organization officers
- Train club/organization officers
- Assist students when they come to the office for basic information
- Inventory office supplies and notify Student Life Coordinator timely
- Inventory Food Pantry/Clothing Closet items
- Provide contactless giveaway assistance and assembly
- Assist with activities and events, including but not limited to selling tickets, book sales, set-up, and break-down, whenever possible
- Serve as a backup for work-study positions in office
- Update social media
- Email and call booking agents for events
- Other related duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience:
Required
- Associates degree
- Excellent writing, editing, and accurate data entry skills
- Above average organizational skills, reliability, and self-reliance are essential
Preferred
- Bilingual Spanish/English
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be proficient in the use of MS Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint and Internet skills/social media. Ability to use Canvas Software, Adobe Illustrator and Mailchimp required. Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague or other administrative software a plus.
Communication Skills:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
